Necaxa upsets Toluca 3-2 (AP)
MEXICO CITY (AP)—Ecuadorian striker Christian Suarez scored twice in three minutes as Necaxa rallied for a 3-2 upset win over Toluca on Sunday in the seventh round of the Mexican Clausura football championship.
Also Sunday, America lost at home 2-1 to Morelia, while Puebla defeated Jaguares 1-0.
Toluca took the lead with scores from Jaime Ayovi in the 44th and Carlos Esquivel in the 54, but Suarez sent a cross to Ismael Iniguez four minutes later and added strikes in the 77th and 80th for Necaxa’s win.
Toluca which came into the match undefeated, left Pumas as the only team without a loss after seven rounds. Toluca leads Group 2.
