Rangers manager Walter Smith has set his sights on making another signing before the transfer window closes on Monday.
The Scottish champions confirmed the capture of striker David Healy from Sunderland on Sunday, with the Northern Ireland international recruited to help plug the gap left by Kenny Miller's departure to Bursaspor earlier this month.
And with his frontline taken care of, Smith is now in a race against time to beat the transfer deadline as he turns his attention to his defence.
"We have been trying for the last few days unsuccessfully, apart from David Healy, and we will continue to try," said Smith.
"Whether we will be successful or not, we will have to wait and see. If we can add someone, it would probably be a defender."
Miller notched 22 goals for the Gers this season before quitting Ibrox, and Smith expects boyhood Rangers fan Healy to fill his shoes.
He added: "He's a goalscorer, he's someone who is an out and out goalscorer.
"He is someone who was keen to come to us and we are delighted to have him. We need that kind of thing in and around the box at the moment."
