Tony McCoy admits he faces a difficult decision whether to stick with Don't Push It as his ride in the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree in April.

The Jonjo O'Neill-trained gelding, owned by JP McManus, ended the champion jockey's long wait when giving him National glory at the 15th attempt in 2010. McCoy points out it is incredibly tough for horses to win the world's greatest steeplechase two years running.

Don't Push It has been burdened with joint-top weight of 11st 10lb - 5lb more than he carried last year - when the weights were announced on Tuesday. If McCoy believes any other of his possible mounts, including Can't Buy Time and Synchronised, look to have a better chance, then he would desert the horse that gave him his most memorable day in racing.

McCoy said: "I don't know at the moment. I will always be indebted to Don't Push It for giving me the greatest day of my racing life. But I'm a statistics person, and no horse has won back-to-back Grand Nationals since Red Rum. It's very hard for a horse to win any Grand National. In recent years I thought Hedgehunter and Comply Or Die were really good Grand National winners who could win again.

"They did come back and run well again but it takes an enormous amount out of a horse. Hopefully he's been saving a bit of himself."

Comply Or Die, the winner in 2008, is one of six possibles from the David Pipe stable, with the Nicholashayne trainer particularly struck on French import Or Noir De Somoza.

Pipe said: "He was a top-class horse in France. We had him for a short spell once before - he ran over two miles behind Master Minded, but he's a stayer. We felt he was definitely a three-mile-plus horse and if he was to take to the race he would be very interesting off 11st 5lb. He hasn't been with us for long and we've got a lot of work to do with him. He will hopefully have one run before Aintree but he might go straight there.

"Comply Or Die has completed three times, won and finished second. He has a nice weight (10st 8lb) this year. He is 12, but there have been plenty of winners between nine and 12 and I was very pleased with his run at Warwick the other day. All the rest will take a chance if they get in. Junior would be a good surprise package, maybe next year if he doesn't get in this year."

Hedgehunter landed the booty for Willie Mullins in 2005 and the County Carlow maestro said: "My son Patrick will be riding Dooneys Gate and 11st 4lb gives him a chance. I'm hoping everything goes right and he can get there. I was happy enough with The Midnight Club's weight (10st 13lb), and hopefully the top one stays in.

"Ballytrim eventually gets in this year and I'm happy enough with his weight. Apt Approach probably won't run, and Quiscover Fontaine was going to go for the Irish National. Arbor Supreme was going really well when he was unseated last year and I'm happy enough with him. So we at least have a few that can run."

Organisation fin avril d'un Salon national réservé aux sous-traitants

La première édition du Salon national inversé de la sous-traitance (SANIST), réservé exclusivement aux industriels et prestataires de services nationaux, se tiendra du 25 au 28 avril au Palais des expositions - Alger. Placé sous le haut patronage du président de la République et organisé par la Chambre algérienne de commerce et d'industrie (CACI) en collaboration avec la Société algérienne des foires et exportations (SAFEX) ainsi que la Bourse algérienne de sous-traitance, ce Salon a pour objet de regrouper l'ensemble de receveurs nationaux d'ordre, c'est-à-dire, les sociétés industrielles et prestataires de services, a affirmé le directeur de l'animation et du développement de l'entreprise à la CACI, Rachid Sai, en marge du Forum d'El Moudjahid. Une vingtaine d'exposants, parmi lesquels de grandes sociétés publiques, comme Air Algérie, SNVI et ENIEM sont attendues pour ce Salon, selon Sai. L'objectif visé à travers l'organisation de ce carrefour est de "contribuer à la traduction concrète des orientations des plus hautes autorités du pays visant tout particulièrement la promotion, le développement et la protection de la production nationale", a indiqué Sai. Il s'agit également de permettre à un maximum de donneurs d'ordres et de receveurs d'ordres de se rencontrer, contribuer à la substitution de la production nationale aux importations, accroître l'intégration industrielle nationale par le développement de la sous-traitance, améliorer la connaissance du potentiel de production nationale, et favoriser la diversification de la production nationale, a-t-il ajouté. Le concept de salon inversé est utilisé de par le monde, principalement dans le domaine de la sous-traitance. Un salon classique est un espace physique où se rencontrent des vendeurs et des acheteurs, les premiers exposant les produits ou les services qu'ils fabriquent ou qu'ils fournissent et les seconds viennent en visiteurs rencontrer les vendeurs et voir leurs produits ou services sur leurs stands. Dans le cas d'un salon inversé, c'est l'inverse qui est organisé. Les exposants sont les acheteurs et exposent leurs besoins en achats de produits, fournitures ou services. Les vendeurs viennent en visiteurs pour prendre connaissance des besoins des acheteurs et tenter d'y répondre selon des conditions techniques et commerciales qui se négocient entre les deux parties. Le Sanist est un salon inversé réservé exclusivement aux industriels et prestataires de services nationaux, n'acceptant aucune présence directe ou indirecte d'entreprises ou de fournisseurs étrangers. Il s'agit à travers l'organisation de ce salon de contribuer à la traduction concrète des orientations des plus hautes autorités du pays visant tout particulièrement la promotion, le développement et la protection de la production nationale en particulier. L'organisation du Sanist constitue sans nul doute un cadre original et approprié pour booster les relations de sous-traitance entre les entreprises nationales industrielles, grandes entreprises, PMI ou microentreprises et renforcer le tissu industriel et l'intégration économique nationale. Sont admises pour exposer au Sanist, les entreprises recherchant des receveurs d'ordres de droit algérien pour s'approvisionner en composant ou semi produits à incorporer dans leurs productions finales. C'est le cas des entreprises industrielles activant dans la mécanique, la construction métallique, l'électricité, l'électronique, l'électroménager, … Elles peuvent aussi s'approvisionner en pièces et articles nécessaires à la maintenance et à la réparation de leurs équipements de production ou de leurs parcs d'engins, lorsque les volumes des achats sont significatifs. C'est le cas des entreprises activant dans les secteurs des hydrocarbures, de l'énergie électrique, des mines, des industries pétrochimiques, de la sidérurgie, de la métallurgie, des cimenteries, des briqueteries, des travaux publics, des transports terrestre, ferroviaire, aérien, maritime, de la réparation navale, des industries manufacturières. Sont également admises à l'exposition les entreprises activant dans le montage d'équipements et d'appareils (SKD, CKD) et recherchant des sous-traitants pour intégrer davantage leurs productions ainsi que les entreprises qui, tout en étant elles-mêmes des receveurs d'ordre, recherchent des sous-traitants pour s'approvisionner en articles à incorporer dans leurs productions (sous-traitants de rang 2). The weights for this year's John Smith's Grand National were announced on Tuesday with favourite Ballabriggs hardening at the top of the market.

Several firms, including Sky Bet, trimmed the market leader's odds from 16/1 to 14/1 after hearing the news that the Donald McCain-trained horse will have to carry 11st.

Speaking about the weights, McCain said: "I've no complaints with that for Ballabriggs. He's a Cheltenham Festival winner so it was always going to be around the 11st mark.

"The bonus is that Don't Push It is likely to run so the weights aren't going to change at all. I've no complaints.''

Sky Bet cut Ballabriggs to 14s from 16s and Richard Horner, Sky Bet's Head of Racing, said:

"By way of comparison, I frame my own National weights each year and Phil Smith, the BHA's official handicapper, has once again compressed the weights to favour those at the top of the handicap."

Sky Bet make it 4/7 for the National winner to carry less than 11st and 5/4 to shoulder 11st or more for only the second time in the past decade after Hedgehunter (11st1lb in 2005) and Don't Push It last year.

The 2010 champion is a general 20/1 shot to win again, with Neptune Collonges drifting to 40s (from 33s) with numerous firms following the announcement.

Coral's David Stevens said: "No name is more linked to Grand National success than that of the McCain family, and in Ballabriggs, Donald McCain has a leading contender for this year's race, as he bids to add his own winner to the four trained by his father Ginger."

Ballabriggs is 2/1 to go off favourite for the race with Victor Chandler, who currently have Paul Nicholls' Niche Market as their 14/1 market leader.

Given 10st 9lbs, Oscar Time was one who the layers would appear to think has been given a handy weight.

Sky Bet's Richard Horner certainly does. He said: "Oscar Time is my idea of the one to have been handed a fair weight below the 11st threshold."

bet365 immediately went 20/1 from 28/1 with other firms making similar moves.

Meanwhile, Betfred cut The Midnight Club to 16/1 co-second favourite.

Willie Mullins' 10-year-old has been allotted 10st 13lbs after a fine seasonal debut when he was a fast-finishing second in the Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park.

Betfred spokesman Jon Wilde explained: "Rich Ricci, who owns The Midnight Club, has made it no secret that the National is the horse's big target this term.

"It was a most encouraging reappearance in the Thyestes and this improving stayer should thrive for an extreme test of stamina."

The Midnight Club is now one of the worst results in the firm's ante-post book, along with Ballabriggs.

William Hill and Sky Bet offer 6/1 that champion trainer Paul Nicholls wins the race for the first time, although Coral are prepared to dangle 8/1 that one of his 10 entries lands the prize.

The aformentioned Niche Market is his leading contender around the 16/1 mark and Hill's spokeswoman Lucy Rhodes explained the bookies would want to stay on the right side of all the sport's big names.

She said: "Last year's monumental gamble on Don't Push It and AP McCoy will live long in the bookies' memories. The Grand National is horse racing's shop window event and any combination of (Ruby) Walsh, McCoy or Nicholls could well inflict further wounds in 2011."

Sky Bet and Coral make McCoy, on board Don't Push It 12 months ago, 12/1 to ride back-to-back National winners, while Ladbrokes go 7/2 that the winner is trained in Ireland.

Coral's Stevens added: "Another famous name now on the Aintree roll of honour is AP McCoy, who hit the bookies for a fortune last year, and with Don't Push It allotted top weight this time around, the champ may face a tough choice when it comes to picking this year's National mount, although whatever he rides is sure to be extremely well-backed on the day."

McCoy would appear most likely to be on Don't Push It again at present, although no decision has yet been taken.

The race takes place at Aintree on April 9.
