Premier League side Liverpool have been struggling to find their best form this season and winning the domestic league title is almost mathematically impossible for manager Kenny Dalglish and his men. Additionally, they are already eliminated from both the FA Cup and the League Cup.

Liverpool still have a chance of lifting a trophy at the end of the season though as they are still in the Europa League, and defender Martin Skrtel is eager to do just that.

"In the last few weeks we've got some good results and that was really important for us, for the players and the club. We just hope we carry on," Skrtel was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.

"The Europa League is nice for us and a great chance to win a trophy this season. We all have to give our best for a good result in this competition.

"For me it's a great feeling working with Kenny Dalglish because he's a legend at the club – an icon."

Liverpool host Sparta Prague on Thursday in the last 32 after recording a 0-0 draw in the away leg last week.

In the absence of Wales international Jonathan Davies, the strong-running Williams has been in impressive form in recent weeks.

He made a couple of a powerful bursts in the battling LV= Cup defeat to the Dragons and also stood out in the 17-13 loss to Connacht in Galway last weekend.

Williams has an impressive pedigree.

He scored a stunning individual try for Wales Under-20s against France at the Arms Park last season and claimed the man-of-the-match award in Llanelli's Swalec Cup final triumph at the Millennium Stadium.

With the likes of Davies, Regan King and Gareth Maule all in fine form this season, chances in the Scarlets midfield have been limited.

However, Davies is hoping Williams can now show the future is bright for Scarlets fans still mourning the announcement that All Black playmaker King is on his way to Clermont Auvergne in the summer.

"Scott has really impressed over the last couple of weeks," said Davies. "He has really put his hand up which is great to see.

"Scott is our next level of development player coming through, if you like, and he is going to start putting pressure on people like Jon and Regan, which is what we want."

Williams slots into a back division showing just two changes from last weekend's reverse in Connacht.

New Wales cap Rhys Priestland replaces Dan Newton who drops to the bench, while Scotland's Sean Lamont is named on the wing with Darren Daniel returning to Premiership duty with Carmarthen Quins.

Josh Turnbull for Johnathan Edwards at openside is the lone change up front, with veteran prop Iestyn Thomas retaining the captain's armband.

As for Ulster, they welcome back Ireland's Paddy Wallace, Tom Court and Andrew Trimble from Six Nations duty.

Fly-half Ian Humphreys has passed a fitness test on the shoulder he injured against the Ospreys last weekend and he partners Springbok Ruan Pienaar at half-back.

Ulster will be looking to end a woeful record that sees them without a Celtic league victory in Llanelli. "It's a game we've got to win because we don't want to get too far down the table at this stage of the season," said Wallace.

The Ryder Cup vice-captain, 39, led by one overnight and parred the first 14 holes before birdies at 15, 16 and 18 sealed his 11th European Tour title.

Spaniard Alvaro Quiros posted a four-under 68 to finish second on 10 under.

Lee Westwood, who missed the cut, remains world number one after Martin Kaymer - who needed a top-two finish to depose him - ended in a tie for 28th.

"It's a big win for me and hopefully it can push me on to bigger things now," said Bjorn, who turns 40 on 18 February. "When I play golf like this I know I can be up there with the best in the world.

"I'm going to hit 40 but I'm sure it won't affect my golf too much. I've got to stay fit and healthy but I feel I'm playing well.

"There was a lot riding on today and it's great to get back up into the top 60. I can start looking up rankings again now."

Bjorn, celebrating his first title since winning the Portuguese Open in June 2010, added: "It's been a while so I feel good today. It's nice to get one done finally - and in a strong field.

"I put a new driver in my bag and it gave me another 10 yards, which gave me confidence. I started rolling a few puts in on second day and I think I only had one bogey in the last three rounds.

"I said a round of 72 would have been difficult to catch in these conditions, and after holing a few putts I knew if I could stick to my gameplan and not make mistakes I would be all right.

"I've seen enough in my time to know you've got to go all the way until then end but when I hit the tee shot on the 18th I knew I'd be ok."

Kaymer, who could only manage a final-round 71, said: "I was in a position to finish in the top 10 I thought but the greens are not my friends here in Qatar.

"Today I played my best golf all week even with a double bogey at the 12th hole. It's just that the putts didn't drop and while it's a disappointing thing on one hand, I am looking forward to going to Dubai and leaving this tournament behind."

The Desert Classic, which starts on Thursday, will see Kaymer, Westwood and Tiger Woods in the field, the first time since October - when Westwood went to number one - that the top three players in the world have contested the same event.

"I'm not worried about being number one or Tiger going past me and pushing me back to number three as long as I am in the top five on the rankings," Kaymer added.

Austrian Markus Brier, who was only one behind Bjorn at the start of the round, could only manage a closing one-over 73 to finish in a tie for third with Spaniard Rafael Cabrero-Bello.

David Howell was the highest-placed Englishman with a final-round 68 to finish outright fifth on eight under par.
