BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP)—Alejandro Sabella has stepped down as Estudiantescoach, a decision he confirmed after tendering his resignation on Wednesday.

Club president Ruben Filipas announced Sabella’s departure on Thursday.Sabella’s exit could be a blow for the Argentine club, which is the defendingApertura champion and won the Copa Libertadores title under Sabella only 18months ago.
