More striker woes for Pardew - Clubcall

{

Newcastle have confirmed Shola Ameobi is facing a month out of action, after breaking his cheekbone in the Magpies defeat at Fulham.

The news will come as a massive blow to Alan Pardew, whose attacking options are thin on the ground following the deadline day sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool.
Pardew has now called for the full support of the Toon fans, who he feels need to rally around the team in order to see them through to the end of the season.
The manager stated: "Shola's injury has not helped our cause, it's another blow following the one on Monday.
"We need to rally together and I thank them (the fans) for their support at Fulham."
The 1-0 defeat at Craven Cottage has left the Magpies in tenth, on 30 points from 24 games, which is seven points outside the top six and six points from the bottom three.
