Poznan punished over security at Euro 2012 stadium (AP)

NYON, Switzerland (AP)—Polish club Lech Poznan has won a partial reprieve after UEFA ruled its new stadium, a 2012 European Championship venue, had security problems.

UEFA’s appeals panel is allowing Poznan to admit 30,000 fans with tickets for a Europa League round-of-32 match against Braga on Thursday, but enforcing a ban on further sales.

UEFA’s disciplinary body ruled last week that the 43,000-capacity Miejski stadium could be no more than half full.

Poznan must pay a ?20,000 ($27,000) fine and play a European match in an empty stadium if any problems are repeated within two years.

UEFA faulted blocked exits, access areas and seat numbering mistakes when Poznan hosted Juventus in December.

Poznan will stage three Euro 2012 matches.
